William Elze (pronounced Elzey) Weekly and Irene Jane Skaggs were married on the 14th of March 1841 in Jackson County, Missouri.  He was 28 and she was 17 at the time.

In 1853 they and their young children crossed the plains to Oregon with ox teams - a journey of 6 months.  They stayed in the Willamette Valley for a year, settled in Douglas County, Oregon, and later moved to Coos County, Oregon.

William died at the age of 77 in 1889 and Irene at the age of 75 in 1899.  They are both buried at Dora Cemetery (aka McKinley Cemetery), Dora, Coos County, Oregon.  Some of their children, grandchildren, and other relatives are buried there as well.

If you have information about Weeklys in the 1700s or 1800s (any spelling variant) I'd like to hear from you, especially if they were from Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia or Pennsylvania.

Thanks to H Willing and N Jarvis for the photos and info that you have been willing to share.
